AKBag

AKBag centers on an automated importer and the content system behind a large product catalog. A custom Yupoo crawler discovers paginated albums and images, filters previously imported source URLs, downloads assets concurrently, and stores them in AWS S3 alongside structured database records. The operator receives progress and error summaries rather than managing individual downloads. Laravel APIs and Filament administration organize collections, albums, images, and cover assets; a React gallery presents this managed catalog to visitors.

The Challenge

A large external image catalog had to become an organized, maintainable local system. Pagination, duplicate assets, network failures, S3 upload behavior, and database write volume all needed deliberate handling so imports could be operated and repeated with clear feedback.

My Contribution

I built the Laravel importer and catalog management system, including HTML/JSON album discovery, paginated image extraction, cached source URL lookups, and bulk duplicate filtering. Controlled concurrent downloads and reduced-concurrency retries handle failed assets, while S3 verification and batched inserts connect storage to album and image records. I added CLI progress reporting and failure summaries, then built Filament management workflows and catalog APIs. The React gallery consumes this system, with the importer and administration carrying the core engineering work.

Work Highlights

  • Automated import and migration of 15,000+ images from Yupoo into structured album records and AWS S3 storage.
  • Paginated catalog discovery, bulk duplicate filtering, concurrent downloads, and controlled retries.
  • Operator-facing progress and error summaries, S3 upload verification, and batched database writes.
  • Filament administration for collections, albums, images, and covers, backed by catalog APIs.
